Waste management and transport in Germany

Short Description

Germany’s waste management is a global leader, with innovative systems and a focus on sustainability. In one year, over 4 million tonnes of waste were imported for recycling and 3 million tonnes were shipped out of the country. To transport waste in Germany or abroad, a waste transport permit is required. Germany generates about 617 kg of waste annually, highlighting the need for effective waste management. The country also handles around 339 million tonnes of industrial waste annually, highlighting the need for stringent management strategies to prevent environmental contamination and promote recycling and reuse.
