Denmark’s Sustainable Journey in Construction

Short Description

Denmark is advancing sustainable construction by addressing both operational and embodied CO₂ emissions through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Since 2023, BR18 regulations mandate LCA for all new buildings, setting CO₂ limits to guide design. This marks a national commitment to low-carbon development, driving innovation and accountability in the building sector.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the role of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in evaluating and reducing the environmental impact of buildings across their entire life span.
  2. Learn about Denmark’s 2023 BR18 building regulations, including mandatory LCA assessments and CO₂ emission limits for new constructions.
